Line Cook (Grill & Sauté)

Saltgrass & Sage Kitchen is hiring Line Cooks for the grill and sauté stations at our restaurant in Nashville, TN. We cook modern Southern food from scratch: whole-animal butchery, house-made pickles and sauces, and a menu that changes with what local farms bring in. On a Saturday we do about 250 covers, and the kitchen is busy but calm. What you will do: - Work grill or sauté during dinner service, cooking every plate to spec and on time - Set up your station each afternoon: prep, sauces, mise en place and par levels - Butcher and portion proteins with the sous chef - Taste everything and flag anything that isn't right before it goes out - Keep your station clean, labeled and up to health code, and help with the nightly breakdown About you: - At least one year on the line in a full-service restaurant - Solid knife skills and comfortable working a hot station on a busy night - A Tennessee food handler card, or able to get one in your first two weeks (we pay for it) - Reliable, a good teammate and happy to take feedback What we offer: - $18 to $21 per hour, plus a share of the kitchen tip pool (about $3 to $4 per hour extra on average) - A family meal before every shift - Health insurance after 60 days for full-time staff - Paid time off that builds from your first shift - A sous chef who trains you, and real chances to move up How to apply: create your Fiondr profile, upload your resume and tap "I'm interested".
